Traditional shrine wedding ceremony packages

Having a traditional Japanese ceremony at a Shinto Shrine is an experience which stays forever. Ethereal. Ceremonial. Emotional. Many of our international couples are looking for an authentic Japanese wedding experience, and you can’t  get more real than this once in a lifetime experience. Shrine elopements are everything you imagine a Japanese wedding to be and more.  While there are still many shrines in Tokyo which have restrictions on couples from abroad having a Shinto ceremony, we’ve partnered with absolutely beautiful Tokyo shrines, who welcome our international couples with open arms. Wearing a Japanese kimono might be one of the most incredible experiences of your life. And one of our shrines, perhaps the only one in Tokyo, will allow you to wear a wedding dress instead of kimono if that’s a preference for you. There’s no better start to your life together than sharing in all the incredible rituals involved in a traditional Japanese wedding ceremony. Our team there to guide you through every step. In a country known for its meticulous and storied artistic tradition, it’s no surprise that every detail of a Japanese wedding ceremony, from the wedding kimono to the number of sips of sake consumed, has meaning and weight. What an incredible wedding experience. In every way.

MAKE IT A FULL DAY Shrine Wedding day

If you’re looking for the complete Japanese wedding or elopement, think about a full day experience. We’re always helping our couples embrace plans to celebrate their full story. We arrive at your accommodation for all your intimate getting ready moments. Or if you’re planning on the amazing experience of wearing wedding kimono, we’re there to record the ritual once in a lifetime dressing experience. Only some of our preferred kimono shops allow others to be present while the kimono dressers work their magic. So we work on referring kimono vendors open to having this part of your story documented. We truly think this is such an incredibly special part of your day. On the way to the shrine we stop by a stunning park or if you prefer, go straight to the shrine and have an elopement escapade through Tokyo after the ceremony is complete. Without hesitation, most of our couples all say that one of their favorite parts of the day is the ceremonial wedding procession. Shrine musicians and a Shinto guide lead the couple into the shrine. There’s no describing the depth and feeling of this experience. The ceremony is held all in Japanese and it requires you to say a short vow in Japanese (again, we’re there to help you through!). Pure magic. On every level. In our full day experience, we also have the option of exchanging vows in a small ceremony (outside of the shrine) to complement the Japanese part of the day. Anything is possible. And we love working together to create an experience you’ll treasure for the rest of your lives.
