WEDDINGS & ELOPEMENTS IN HAKONE

The wedding is only part of the invitation.

Hakone

You’re bringing your favorite people to Japan. There’s the wedding to look forward to, of course. There’s also the pleasure of knowing you’ll see everyone again at breakfast.

A wedding in Hakone can make the stay part of the celebration. The mountains and hot springs give you reasons to linger; a welcome dinner gives everyone a chance to find one another before the ceremony. You have time to enjoy the place, and the people you’ve brought to it.

At one Hakone Retreat wedding, artist Youna Matsushita performed live calligraphy, with individual artworks for guests to take home. We love that connection: experiencing an artist’s work together, then taking something of the occasion home with you.

37 Frames plans weddings and elopements in Hakone with the hospitality, celebration and photography developed together. We’re interested in what would make the whole visit feel like yours.

What would you like everyone to experience here?

Perhaps you want everyone close by for several days. Perhaps the wedding is the main gathering, with time around it for people to explore or thoroughly enjoy doing very little. There’s room to be different kinds of travelers.

We choose Hakone wedding venues with those people in mind. The rooms, the places to meet, the food and the welcome all matter. We want to know where your friends will gather for a drink, how dinner will work and whether the property can host the evening you’re imagining.

You shouldn’t have to choose between somewhere you love and somewhere your guests will feel comfortable. Finding the right fit means understanding both.

Can we have the place to ourselves?

Private use or a full-property buyout can be a wonderful way to gather: your guests staying close, familiar faces in the shared spaces and the possibility of moving between different parts of the property as the celebration unfolds.

The useful question is what having the place to yourselves actually allows. We confirm the rooms and spaces included, the dining arrangements, music and event hours. A buyout still needs to suit the evening you have in mind.

For another group, a private celebration with nearby accommodation and well-planned transfers may work better. We’ll explain the differences, so you can decide where that privacy would add something meaningful to your wedding.

An evening worth staying for

Perhaps dinner is the main event: a meal you’ve been looking forward to, your people around the table and time to enjoy every course. Perhaps you’re already thinking about the first song that gets everyone on their feet.

Tell us which version you keep imagining. The food, the room, the music and the hours available need to support it. That conversation belongs in the venue search, while we can still choose somewhere that fits.

Our planning and Creative Team develop the setting together, from the light across the tables to how the room changes as the evening gathers energy. We care about how it photographs. We also want you to be having a very good time inside it.

Hakone for two

There’s a particular pleasure in choosing a place for just the two of you. The room matters. So does dinner. You have a stay to look forward to, and a rather important promise to make while you’re there.

We plan your Hakone elopement around what you’d most enjoy sharing. A garden may be where you picture your vows. A villa might be somewhere you’ve wanted to stay for years. A particular meal could deserve an evening of its own. Those interests give us the beginnings of a day, with the ceremony and photographs considered together.

Afterwards, you’ll know this place differently. You’ll remember where you stood, what you said and where you went when you were newly married.

Elopements start from ¥1M, including planning, 37 Frames photography and most location permits. Accommodation, transport, dining and other chosen elements are additional.

For weddings with guests, full planning includes wedding-related accommodation and transfer coordination. Planning and photography are scoped separately in your proposal.
