MT FUJI WEDDINGS & ELOPEMENTS
A wedding in Fuji’s company.
Lake Kawaguchiko, Mt Fuji
We plan Mt Fuji weddings and elopements around the Fuji Five Lakes: lakeside ceremonies at Kawaguchiko, Saiko and Shojiko, shrines at the mountain’s foot, and stays with the mountain across the water. Fuji keeps its own hours, so every plan is beautiful with or without it.
You may have first seen it from a train window, or from a plane coming into Tokyo. Some couples have wanted to marry within sight of it for years.
We’ve spent more than twenty years around the Fuji Five Lakes. We know where the mountain shows itself, and where to turn when it doesn’t.
Where we marry around Mt Fuji
Kawaguchiko gives the view people travel for, straight across the water. Saiko and Shoji are quieter, with forest coming down to the shore. A thatched village by the lake, a ryokan with its own baths, a winery in the hills, a lawn facing the mountain: we find the setting that suits your day, and arrange the permissions for it.
What if the mountain hides?
Then the day turns to what’s close: the cedar avenue of a shrine at the mountain’s foot, mist on Lake Shoji, moss in the old lava forests. One couple married at Lake Saiko in steady rain, beside a village of thatched houses, with a cellist playing and Fuji hidden all day.

When to come
Winter for the clearest skies and snow on the summit; summer brings the most cloud. Spring for cherry blossom around the lakes. Autumn for color in the forests and the first snow on the mountain.

With your people
Fuji is close enough to Tokyo for guests to come for a few days, and far enough to feel like somewhere else. We can plan the wedding-related accommodation and transfers, so everyone can settle in, find one another at dinner and look out for the mountain in the morning.
For the two of you
A lake at first light, a shrine, lunch by the water, the mountain if it appears. Elopements at Mt Fuji start from ¥1M, and film is optional.
Begin your storyQuestions about Mt Fuji
Can we get married at Mt Fuji?
Yes, around the Fuji Five Lakes and in the country at the mountain’s foot: by a lake, at a ryokan, in a forest or at a shrine. Every outdoor setting needs permission, and we arrange it.
Will we see Mt Fuji on our wedding day?
Winter gives you the best chance, with the clearest skies of the year. Even then no one can promise it, so we plan a day that’s beautiful either way, and watch the sky with you.
How far is Mt Fuji from Tokyo?
About two hours by road from central Tokyo to the lakes, which suits a few days’ stay.
What does a Mt Fuji elopement cost?
Elopements start from ¥1M, including planning, 37 Frames photography, on-the-day transport and most location permits. Your own vision sets out the rest of the day.
